Figure review - GSC Matou Sakura - Preparation of dinner

The fourth figure review is up. Not much of a story this time, but maybe at least something. This figure is on sale at HLJ since some time ago. I saw it there at that time, looked at it, but didn't want it first. But then, As I was visiting Vienna and bought the Tohsaka figure there, I also saw this figure in the same shop. Pondered it, and decided to get it. I could've bought it over there, but with the sale the price even with shipping was less than in the shop. Also, I wanted to test how well SAL shipping works.

The figure came without problems in 2 weeks or so. Therefore I decided to use SAL even in future orders (I have Alter's Aozaki Touko and GSC Candy Boy sisters in preorders at the moment).

First thing I noticed was her size. I saw it in the shop enclosed in the box, but still I could grasp how large it is. Anyway, it still surprised me when I unpacked her. When comparing her 1/6 to Shiki, which is 1/7, it's really a giant. I won't probably get more 1/6 figures in the future (only if they are really good).

Still, she is very nice. If it wasn't a sale, I wouldn't have bought her, but I don't regret it now. Her pose is simple, yet elegant. Coloring matches the source material perfectly. This completes my Fate/Stay Night main heroines series. Getting the others will be more difficult I believe.

While I was unpacking her, I noticed she had a piece of wrapping foil stuck inside her skirt. I was dumbfounded for a while, struggling how to remove it. Then I somehow grabbed her upper body and it came off... Revealing her skirt was castoffable.

As usually, the face is not really 100% accurate, but that's what you get making 2D into 3D. The clothing is very nice though, details here and there, nice details on the collar and ribbon. Also, my favourite dynamic hair.

What can I say, lovely closeup.

And a little comparison shot. You can clearly see what a giant she is. I guess those scales are not really precise. This is my whole collection by the way (without the little ones like Chun-Li I won somewhere and a tiny Chii from Chobits). But as I mentioned earlier, Touko and Sakurai sisters are preordered, with Touko coming out this month (so excited).

More photos in the figure gallery.
