Figure review - Kotobukiya Tohsaka Rin

And next up in the figure series, meet Fate/Stay Night's finest, Tohsaka Rin. This purchase was on a whim, seeing it stand there all alone on the shelf in Vienna's Animetown shop. Although the price was a bit higher than original, if counted together with the shipping cost, it was a good buy. Especially because Rin figures are really hard to find (especially good looking ones). [oh and something offtopic: technorati verification code... ngxs8kqecr - it said 'put in in a post on your front page', so I'm doing it. Pretty weird way of verification, but whatever.]

It was my first 1/8 scale fig (I saw the Saber had also 1/8 written on some sites, but when I compare the sizes, the Saber has to be 1/7).

The first thing that struck me was the face. It's maybe a bit too retard-moe for my tastes. But that's the only thing that is lacking here. There is not much you can do wrong with Rin - her clothes design is great by itself.

She stands in a dynamic pose on one leg. I first thought that she might bend with time, but it seems it's good quality enough. I also like the dynamic hair and clothes sculpting.

As Fate/Stay Night goes, Rin is my most favourite character by far. So the decision to get her right there on the spot was easy.

Btw, I love taking these closeup photos. They make the details stand out much more and it gives the figure a completely different feeling.

Next up - Fate/Stay Night again, but this time - Matou Sakura by GSC!
